Vocabulary
Within their Design and Technology lessons, children have a myriad of opportunities to build upon and develop the language and vocabulary that they are practicing on a daily basis. With the belief that 'every lesson is a language lesson' underpinning our teaching philosophy the progression of vocabulary is developed through the children discussing their learning . Through Design and Technology lessons we provide all children with the opportunity to improve oracy skills. Technical vocabulary is taught in all year groups and children are encouraged to use this language in their independent work.
The use of high-quality resources, such as communication in print and visuals to support SEND and EAL children . There is also a bank of topic specific vocabulary to ensure consistency across the school
