Computing

‘Programming is a skill best acquired by practice and example rather than from books.’ Alan Turing

The Carlyle Infant and Nursery Academy (CINA) Computing curriculum is intended to introduce and familiarise pupils with the basics of technology and digital literacy as outlined in the National Curriculum.

Our Computing curriculum aims to build confidence with technology and setting a foundation for digital skills for all our pupils. As well as the subject-based curriculum, the Harmony Pledge is designed to develop character competences and raise aspirations so that pupils become ‘Expert Learners’ and ‘Believe, Achieve and Succeed’.

The  Harmony Trust ‘Harnessing Technology Maximizing Learning’ (HTML) Strategy is ambitious. It aims to significantly increase the use of technology across all our academies so that pupils and staff use it wisely to enhance their learning.  Being innovative with the use of technology supports learning and complements our already well established and effective approaches to teaching and learning.  Through the use of the 1:1 devices, pupils will have access to appropriate technology which will accelerate pupil progress, encourage independent, expert learners and support teachers in managing their workload.
