Art

‘Every child is an artist.  The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.’ Pablo Picasso

The Art curriculum at Carlyle Infant and Nursery Academy (CINA) is designed to introduce our pupils to the world of creativity and self-expression. The focus is on developing fine motor skills, fostering imagination and encouraging exploration through various Art forms. Activities include drawing, painting, crafting and using a range of tools like scissors. Our Art curriculum also supports social development as pupils can work collaboratly on projects and share / evaluate their own creations.

Our pupils also get the opportunity to research and study a range of artist linked to the topic. They will not only learn about the artist and their artwork but they also have the opportunity to engage creatively by exploring and altering elements of particular Art piece. This process helps children develop critical thinking and understanding of artist choices.
